Lies About The NDP:
Lie No. 1: Jack Layton was living in a government subsidized apartment while making over $100,000 per year!
Truth: This is a smear campaign. Jack paid the fair market rate while living in co-operative housing. Proof that this is a lieLie No. 2: The NDP will spend us into bankruptcy!
Truth: Nation wide and over history, NDP governments have a better track record than any other party when it comes to balancing the budget: Proof that this is a lie
Some points from NDP's agenda
Given a record of broken promises, how many lies are in Stephen Harper’s platform now?
As Ontario and Quebec lost thousands of good manufacturing jobs while Stephen Harper was Prime Minister, we see little to no leadership or understating on how this is happening.
As Canada copes with a massive recall of prepared meat, where is the Federal Minister in charge of regulating this industry?
Meanwhile, it seem that only the NDP understands:
· Good environmental policy is great economic policy. We can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create jobs, and save Canadians money. http://www.ndp.ca/betterplan
· Bombs and bullets cannot kill ideas. To defeat extremism we need a strategy that turns the supporters of terrorism against the terrorists.
· As long as there are addicts willing to pay for drugs, the price will increase until more producers enter the market. Repressing 3rd world farmers will never solve addiction problems in wealthy countries.
· A real National Daycare Plan is a good investment in families of today and workers of the future.

Electing more NDP MPs means more will get done!
Now more than ever, since the amendment of the Canada Elections Act, every vote counts in a very real way. Canadian political parties are no longer allowed to raise money from corporations or unions. To make up for this loss of revenue, each party will be given $1.25 for each vote they receive. Each vote will help the NDP promote progressive issues that are important to Canadians."
'These new election rules mean that your views have a cumulative effect - they add up from one election to the next because the money paid back permits additional promotion of your views during the next election. Your vote does make a difference now, and for the next election! It adds up, so don't waste it on something you're against. Use it to support a positive view of what you want and what you believe.Your Vote "Does" Make a Difference!

Has the power gone to his head?
· Stephen Harper campaigned for greater democracy, ending patronage appointments by having an elected Senate. One of his first moves was to appoint his friend to the Senate and then to Cabinet: A Patronage appointment breaking the Canadian Tradition that only Elected MPs should be in the cabinet
· Stephen Harper increased income taxes on low income Canadians.
· Stephen Harper’s last campaign stated he would not tax income trusts. He broke this promise and the financial position of many retired people suffered as a direct result.
· Stephen Harper campaigned to take away the Prime Minister’s unfair advantage in calling an election whenever it was easiest to win, and passed a law for Fixed Election Dates. If he calls an election before October 2009, he is violating the intention of his own law.
· Harper campaigned on increased government transparency yet did not implement accountability acts even as parliament passed them.
· Stephen Harper says that he needs an election because parliament has become dysfunctional, even as Liberals and separatists help him pass the laws of his choice. It was Harper’s party that printed and distributed manuals for Conservative MPs on how to effectively disrupt and sabotage the work of parliamentary committees.
· Stephen Harper claims to support the Canadian Military, yet as published reports point out, their “Guaranteed Increases” funding plan increases funding at a lower rate than inflation, which means “Guaranteed Funding Cuts”.
· After years of war, Harper has failed to provide leadership to NATO as it fights the civil war in Afghanistan. What is the strategy to get the Taliban to lay down their arms?
· Stephen Harper campaigned on being tough on crime, yet has not made efforts to prevent people from turning to crime. Waiting until after people become criminals is the most expensive anti-crime plan out there.
· Stephen Harper doesn’t seem to understand that $100/month per child under age 6 isn’t a National Daycare Strategy, it is a Baby Bonus.
· Stephen Harper claimed to be a leader, and promised a “Made in Canada” solution to rapid climate change caused by the greenhouse effect. After undermining international efforts Canada still doesn’t seem to have an effective strategy to transform Canada to a sustainable economy.
· Stephen Harper campaigned for honesty in election financing. Elections Canada and the Parliamentary Ethics committee have serious questions about the legitimacy of the Conservative party’s “In and Out” financing scheme, where the central party exceeds national election spending limits by claiming the expense on local campaigns.
